Our Initiatives
Our collective efforts are designed to inspire, empower, and create lasting impact, forging pathways for growth and collaboration. Join us in this transformative journey to make a real difference in the world we share. Here are some of the projects we have done to ignite this transformation.
Somerville Homeless Coalition
Somerville Homeless Coalition was Give A Cake Bakery’s first partner and very first engagement. In 2020 we provided Thanksgiving pies for shelter residents to enjoy. We continue providing special baked goods for the residents in their shelter as well as for their street team to hand out for many holidays.
Give A Cake X Match Charter Public High School
In May of 2023 we had the pleasure of hosting student interns as part of the “Match Alive” at the Match Charter High School in Boston. During this dynamic 10 Day internship we lead students through an overview of entrepreneurship, nonprofits, social impact ventures, and of course baking! Our internship took us from the classroom to the bakery and culminated in a pop-up bakery hosted in the great hall of the school. It was a great way to share the experience with the school community.
Wily Network
In June, 2021 we did our first engagement with the Wily Network making dozens of cupcakes for local university graduates including MIT and Boston College. We have worked with the Wily Network every year since and have enjoyed celebrating with Wiley graduates by making their graduation cakes!

Give A Cake X Harvard Health Lab Accelerator
Based on the impact of our internship program, Give A Cake has partnered with Harvard University’s HealthLab Accelerator. HealthLab is a joint venture between Harvard School of Public Health and Harvard’s Lemann Program on Creativity and Entrepreneurship. It was created to offer comprehensive support primarily to Harvard students who have social impact ventures. Through this partnership, Give a Cake will gain access to people, places and ideas to advance our programming. Give a Cake will be hosting internship programs throughout the school year to create volunteer opportunities to students that might not otherwise have access.
Newton Community Freedge
Give A Cake Bakery officially partnered with the Newton Community Freedge in May of 2023. Our partnership with the Freedge has provided a great outlet for our volunteers to bake and spread love as often as they can. Every volunteer doing an engagement with the Freedge uses our Give A Cake Bakery packaging and provides an ingredient list with dates stating when the items were baked and how long the items should be kept.
Newton Highlands Village Day
This year we had a booth at Newton Highlands Village Day where we got to share our story with local business owners, Newton residents, and Newton Mayor Fuller! We also shared our sweet treats through a bake and merchandise sale through which we collected donations. We had several volunteers bake for this event and wonderful volunteers to represent us and share our story.
