A Summer of Growth, Gratitude & Community

This summer has been one I'll never forget. One of the most rewarding parts has been hearing from volunteers across the country who want to join a movement that began in my kitchen almost six years ago. It is incredible to think that something which started with a handful of homemade baked goods has grown into a community of people choosing to make a difference in their own neighborhoods.

This summer has also marked the beginning of planning for our first annual Give a Cake Cup, which will take place this October. As we prepare for the tournament, I have been reminded that Give a Cake Bakery has never been about one person. Every volunteer, donor, sponsor, and community partner has helped shape what this organization has become. The Give a Cake Cup is a chance to celebrate that collective impact while raising the support that will help us reach even more volunteers and communities in the years ahead.

In just a few weeks, I'll begin my first year at Vanderbilt University as an Ingram Scholar. As I prepare for that transition, I find myself reflecting on how closely Give a Cake Bakery and I have grown together. The past six years have shown me that meaningful change happens when ordinary people decide to show up for one another. That belief has shaped the way I see leadership, service, and community, and it is something I'll carry with me into this next chapter. While I'm excited for what's ahead, I'm even more excited to see how the experiences and relationships I build will continue to strengthen Give a Cake Bakery and the work we do together.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Whether you've baked a cake, volunteered at an event, supported a fundraiser, partnered with us, or simply cheered us on, you've helped build something far bigger than I ever imagined. I can't wait to see what we'll accomplish together next.
